Elder Sam Jensen

 Hello todos! On Tuesday we had an exchange with Chiclín. Elder Larkin came with me to Independencia. We had a great exchange. We had a lesson with Anthony and Lourdes about faith that went really well. They want to come to church badly but have classes programmed at those same hours. But during the lesson Lourdes said that she was going to go to church this Sunday even with her classes. She said she thinks going for the first time in 3 weeks when her classes end is too far away, so she and Anthony decided they wanted to go this Sunday! After that the spirit whispered to talk to a lady in a moto, so we did. She's from Ascope, but her brother's a member in Chile and she expressed desire to read in the Book of Mormon! That night we received a notification that we would get transfer news at 6:45 the next morning. That night Elder Larkin and I had a hilarious pillow talk. Just like old times. On Wednesday we woke up and waited rather uncomfortably for transfer news to arrive....

  Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week because I sure did! After we got back from Cascas on Monday we went to a lesson with hermano Anthony and hermana Lourdes. Man they are so fun. Hermano Anthony has interest in being baptized because he's felt such a change in his life since we started visiting with them. They still have to get married and have a few other things they'll have to change, but they are very interested and we feel the spirit will work with them a lot. We put him on date for Sept. 16 as a goal. On Tuesday we picked up Elder Yanqui and he spent the day with us. He's awesome and a missionary I've known since the CCM! We had interviews with President that day. I had mine first. Man I can really feel the love he and hermana Hiatt have for me and every other missionary too. It's quite amazing how the Savior's love is manifest through them. We ended up staying while the entire district had their interviews so we could lock up the chapel after...

  Hello everyone! I hope you're all had a great week! After pday on Monday we went to hermano Anthony and hermana Lourdes and watched the Joseph Smith movie with them. They had a lot of good questions and we can see the positive changes that are happening inside of them. That night we also visited hermano Carlos and talked about his experience at church the day before. Things are looking very hopeful for him and his family! After that we visited hermano Daniel and taught him about repentance. Tuesday was a productive day. We visited hermana Angheel, a recent convert and talked with her and her parents about the trials that are going on in their lives. Afterwards we visited Kevin and talked about his experience in church. We talked about the Book of Mormon and baptism. He has his doubts and fears, but we'll see what we can do.   Hey everyone! I hope you all have a great week! Monday night we went to the house of hermano Carlos and hermana Suguey and watched the hour long Joseph Smith movie with them. We were able to testify of the restoration and see the growing testimony inside of them. On Tuesday we had a few lessons and ate some cuy at a member's house. We also got ceviche de pollo. I ate a little bit, but was too scared to eat more. Most of our day was spent traveling to Trujillo for the mission leadership meeting. I had bought a new suit on pday because my old one was looking pretty bad, but I gave my unhemmed pants to hermana Diane a little too late so she didn't have it done in time, and our laundry for the week wasn't done yet so I ended up going in my gray suit with dark blue pants. It was all I had left! We had a bunch of pizza for dinner and then had a great reunion. President Hiatt gave a powerful testimony and gave us some great ideas and pressure. After the meeting we were told to s...
