Week 98: Preparing the Future Generation

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! On Monday after pday we did our training for the new missionaries and had a small lesson with Lilia. After that we did a contact with Mirian and Angel. We decided to push back Mirian's baptismal date a week so she could get baptized with her son if he comes to church this week. That night we got a call from Elder Castillo saying that we were going to the temple the next day! Of course I had put my suit pants in the wash the day before so I was going to have to use my tan pants -_- On Tuesday we woke up at normal time even though our session started at 8. We literally wolfed down our breakfast and raced over. The session was great and I had some personal revelation! We visited the distribution center and took photos as a district! After that we had intercambios with Buenos Aires 2. I went there with Elder Moss and Elder Hadfield went to Chan Chan with Elder Salas. We had a lesson with a lady who wasn't understanding anyth...

Week 97: Steps of Faith

Hello hello everyone! I hope you're doing well! On Monday after pday Presidente Hiatt called us to go give a blessing of health to hermana Valdiviezo in Los Cedros. We called Elder Gallegos and Elder Espinoza to come with us, since President Hiatt told us to go to their apartment. We gave them blessings of health and have gotten better. We tried to do some contacts but no one was home. On Tuesday we had a lesson with Carmen. I took a photo because I didn't know at that point if I was going to be transfered or not. We had a lesson with Mirian and Angel after that and hermana Karen came with us! We went over baptism and the restoration quickly and then taught them about the law of chastity. After that we visited the primary president, hermana Patricia, and her family. We presented ourselves and shared a quick message. We also asked them about Jeidy and what they thought would be best for her. Right now we're only having one call lesson with her each week, but we feel she wo...

Hola todos! I hope you all had an amazing week! On Monday after pday we had our new missionary training and then had a noche de hogar with the Puglisivich family. On Tuesday we had exchanges with the APs! I went to Villa del Mar for the first time and stayed their with Elder Goates and Elder Cuff. We had fun that day while planning, eating, contacting, and teaching. We had a great lesson that night with a family and we felt the spirit a lot. I learned a lot from both of them. It's so weird how Elder Goates is finishing his mission today. I also got to ride in one of the Huanchaco busses again, so that made me happy. That night we had some great chaufa for dinner and played Exploding Kittens. The next day we finished the exchange before breakfast in the offices where we gave feedback, praises, and tips. I also had to saw goodbye to Elder Beizaga, my first comp in the field. Technically he wasn't my father but I will always consider him to be. At breakfast hermana Merly t...

Week 95: Always Retaining a Remission of Our Sins

Hello everyone! Happy Halloween! On Monday after pday we went to the offices for the mission leadership meeting. We had pizza for dinner, (which is what we had had for lunch, too), and then had a great council with President. We're focusing a lot on how we can help elevate the expectations and faith of the missionaries to baptize more converts. I got to talk a bit to Elder Agostinelli again about how the work's going in Chan Chan. On Tuesday (Halloween!!!) we spent a part of the day planning our training for the multizone conference on Thursday. That night we had a lesson with Jose. He had come to church the Sunday before and loved the feelings of peace and tranquility that he felt. We used the opportunity to teach him about baptism, the gift of the Hoky Ghost, and the sacrament. He understood it really well, which was surprising to me because before it was very hard for us to see if he was understanding what we were teaching him. We invited him to be prepared to be baptized...
