MTC Overtime: Week 11 - Piano Man

Hola! Este semana fue muy similar a las ultimos semanas en ese no mucho occurido. Yo esperanzo su semana fue muy divertido y usted vio el mano de Dios en su vida!

This week we had two live devotionals. On Monday we had Bishop L. Todd Budge, the second counselor in the presiding bishopric come down in person to the CCM. He actually gave a talk just last general conference called, "Giving Holiness to the Lord." He spoke about our purpose as a missionary and the importance of repentance. Repentance is like a "spiritual rep." Each time it tears your muscles but they get bigger and stronger each time. On Tuesday we also had Dale G. Renlund and his wife speak to us from Provo. His wife's name is Ruth, and he told us that in Portuguese, his wife's name is pronounced, "Hoochi!" He spoke to us about how missionaries are perfect messengers and that we can share our message both quickly and effectively.

I practiced the piano for most of my free time this week. I learned many new hymns. Hermana Lunt, who's practically perfect at the piano, heard me practicing and asked if I'd play during Sacrament meeting. I accepted, but then she said that the learders of the Latino ward pick the songs and only tell me what they are right before the meeting. I became super nervous because I can't learn songs, especially difficult ones, in just a few minutes. I worried the whome night until the leaders arrived. One of the songs was "We Thank Thee oh God For a Prophet," but the other two would be impossible for me to learn in 10 minutes. I asked if I could change the songs, and they agreed. I stuck with the first song but played "The Sacrament" and "Secret Prayer" as the other too. I only messed up one or two times in secret prayer, but other than that I think it went really well!

I got stung by a bee last night. My companions and I were going on a walk and this insect tried to fly in my ear so I instictively swatted at it. I felt a sharp pain in the area where my index finger attatches to the palm on my left hand. I found out it was a bee when I saw it on a fence. Hermana Wardell let me borrow her reverse syringe, or venom-sucker-outer. It didn't really work, but the sensation it had on my hand was quite fun. It also isn't a day at the CCM without Elder Sorensen tripping on something. Up the stairs, on the sidewalk, he's tripped everywhere.

On Thursday my group is going to immigrations to try to speed up our visas. We've been told that it's likely we'll all be reassigned if we don't get our visas by May. This visit will probably determine if I'll get my visa on time. Presidente Jackson said that we should get the President of Peru down here to the CCM to have him see what we do to have our visas approved. I'm praying and fasting for it to go well, and I hope that you will have all of us missionaries in the CCM in your prayers!

That was my week! I'm glad I improved on my piano skills and am hopeful for Thursday. Also, the hype for general conference down here is real! We're super excited to hear the words of the prophet. We're also placing bets on the temples that'll be announced and loading up on snacks to divilge in. I hope you have a great week and tune into conference on Saturday and Sunday!
